This hotel is in an excellent position for anyone arriving in Siracusa by bus or train- within metres of both terminals. It is also within 5 minutes walk of the town centre, restaurants etc., and 10 minutes from the old city, harbour, museums, historical buildings and tourist sites. It is an authentic old building, part of the grand old style streets that predominate the city, and is esoterically furnished and decorated in a delightful whimsical way without being at all pretentious. The staff could not have tried harder to be helpful, despite limited English speakers (or Italian on our part). There was always someone on hand when needed. We were using bikes throughout our stay, and they provided secure garage storage on site at street level by the entrance- a godsend. They even co-ordinated with the company we hired the bikes through for collection arrangements. We were also canoeing on the sea around the area- ideal. The room was very clean, the shower had plenty of hot water, and although it was furnished in an old fashioned style it was perfectly adequate for our needs. It had a TV for anyone who felt it necessary. It was a quite spot at night. Superb value for money for independent travellers to Siracusa who want to have a base in the city and are out and about during the day.

This hotel is a gem that exceeded our expectations. The location is a block away from the train station and bus station. It is a very short walk to Ortigia, which is the older, touristy part of town. The bus stop to take you to the Archeological Museum is close by. Our room was large, spotless, and was even nicer than the pictures on the website. The bed was comfortable, the sheets were of excellent quality and bright white. There was lots of hot water, shower was good. The hotel is decorated in a classy, old world style with interesting pictures on the walls. We loved the parrot in the lobby. Breakfast was 5 euros, in a classy breakfast room with navy blue tablecloths on the tables. Breakfast was a bargain. (Coffee, croissants, coffee cake, yogurt, jams, jellies, Melba toasts, cereal, 2 different juices, apples- more than enough to start the day and delivered with a smile) The staff bent over backwards to please us in every way and were helpful with suggestions on where to go and what to see. This hotel was a bargain and we wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it.

I do not speak Italian, and I have used translate app to communicate with the staff. I like the fact that the tall gentleman who speak a little English (who I forgot his name, so sorry) was very warm and helpful with my stay. The lady and other gentleman was very kind also even though they speak no English. As a British black woman travelling alone I felt very welcomed and safe. Zero discrimination, I needed a place that would provide a good experience with safety. I was not expecting boujee i like the old feel and decor. I like the location of the property as it’s 10-12 minutes away from Ortigia Island. My room was clean, bedding, bathroom and the overall hotel.

We did not have breakfast, but rather went two blocks to a 24-hour cafe, which was perfectly OK for our needs. The hotel's location is excellent: half a block to the central train station, and a few blocks to intercity buses. Walking to the main street, Via Umberto, took a few minutes.

The location is perfect as so close to both train and bus station. Great supermarket 5 minutes walk away. Also close to all major attractions and historical buildings. Staff so helpful and friendly. I would certainly stay again. I extended 4 nights!
